On Saturday, April 19th, the insurgents distributed propaganda displaying the search and seizure of our dictator. Many people joined in on the rally against the oppressor and followed the insurgents on their hunt. They became very passionate about the matter and felt that their lives would better from finding, and seizing, this man. Few others started a protest against them. These civilians were irate that they were sharing such political “garbage” as they called it; but the propaganda continued circulating. The insurgents search dog, Rocky, caught the scent of the dictator and they discovered that they were only a day or two behind him.

Attention!- The Search Has Come and Gone!!
The search for Rich Rod has come to an end! After the positive reaction to the flier handed out a little over a week ago, we have had great success in the search of Rich Rod. A number of WVU fans, soldiers, Rocky (our personal search dog/picture below), and anonymous sources searched the Mylan Puskar Football Stadium all last week. The search was not only for the "wanted" Rich Rob, but also for the missing recruiting document that he took along with him after his decision to leave WVU. With the help from trustworthy anonymous sources who have been informing us with double-checked information, we are 100% successful in our mission. After a few days and many volunteers, we were successful locating Rich Rob hiding within a culprit, just as Saddam. Revenge is schedule for Friday April 25th, at 2pm in the open area between Campus Drive and University Avenue. Plan to help with the public revenge. Thank you to all who have helped with the search of Rich Rod. Hope to see you all on Friday!

This is it guys. We need the map by Wednesday. We have to get this done. That's all we need from you. We can't meet outside of class anymore, which means no group meeting on Tuesday. Sandy has us back in the classroom.

As for the 303 people, I uploaded the pictures from Friday to Flickr, and I'll write something small on the GR blog about it. Be ready to get this project done. If you were assigned a story, you must have it done for class on Tuesday. Bring it on a flash drive or e-mail it to yourself. I want to have this whole thing done by Thursday so everyone else can focus on exams, other projects, moving out, graduation, whatever the hell it is... Don't drop the ball please.

OOOO wow!!!!!!!! me and hunter just brain stormed!!!!

buttons are out bc button makers are scarce, but!!!!!!!

he just started photoshoping the images, we want to print the rich/saddam playing cards on small pieces of paper, stamp them out into circles with a craft cutter, and tape them to the bottom of clear beer pong cups. then just hand them out to random people at the game. they'll see them before they get all beer soaked.

if this is a go, can anyone meet tomorrow in the afternoon? any time from noon on?

please be stoked about this idea- everyone needs cups at the tailgate!!!

What you missed.. April 15 Meeting

Okay for Saturday as in the 19th, we are going to pass out flyers at the game because the button idea fell through. If you can, meet at the stadium by 11:00 a.m.

Megan and Isaac will construct the flyer. It will have a picture of Sadam in the hole, and a picture of Rich Rod. The message on the flyer is "One Down... One to Go."

Marie will make copies for free. Marie will bring her camera, bring yours too if you want. As for dress, we need to dress in something OTHER THAN blue and gold. We need to stand out to do this. Some suggested wearing camo or black.

We are going to get pictures of us passing out the flyers, Megan will do a search of inside the facility since she is planning on attending the game. We are going to get pictures of the security groping/searching people.

Later on we will plan a "captive video" just to add more stories to our website for the news channel.

As for Thursday: 303 people, remember we have to do the group presentation. Have two websites picked out to talk about. Marie has already claimed Pac Manhattan.

We really need to work out a suitable time for everyone to meet. The majority of us have from 1:00-2:15 on Tuesdays open because that's when our 303 class is. I don't think that gives us enough time to travel to the CAC to meet with you guys. Outside of that, it's just crazy to get everyone together. So what we were thinking today is to have the pictures and "articles" ready for the website next Thursday/Friday ish. That way only one of us has to meet up with the CAC side to get the website going.

Next meeting: Tuesday April 22 - 1:00 Library.

Reminder

Reminder that we are meeting on Tuesday at 1:00 at the Library and we will get another study room and work on developing our idea and creating a sense of a group/organization whatever it may be. We need to work out last minute kinks of what our event will and will not be and plan it. We have to plan our angle of presentation, too.

What do you think we will need for equipment? Video recorders? Cameras for pictures? Voice recorders?

For the 303 peeps, I've called dibbs on Pac-Manhattan for our in class presentation next Thursday. We will have to discuss who will talk about what and maybe help each other find the "importance or relevance" to the project we are doing now. Keep that in mind.

hey, sorry i've not gotten back to the blog. i'll be there tuesday & let hunter know as well. We've talked about a few ideas; Hunter thought that making flyers or Button(pins) that look like the Iraq playing cards but with faces like belin and rodriquez on them would be good to hand out in front of the mountainlair/video the event.
As for the map, do you have any specs for this? or concepts to build from?

Isaac had an idea to set it up as an "anti-war" vs. "war" kind of teams, although no one will really join one side or the other so we tell them it's something like "Support the Troops" and "End the War." (I think that's what he said, if I'm wrong... uhm well you get the idea. By the time I got some free time at work to post this, I sorta forgot the specifics, but the general idea is still there.)

Anyway, CAC people, please try to meet us sometime soon. Our next group meeting, which we encourage you all to attend as well, is Tuesday at 1:00 at the downtown library. We need to have the map done by Thursday for class.

This should be the central lines of communication as well. Check this regularly, and post new info on here.

After our first meeting

This is what we decided. It's lengthy, but informative.

For our event we are going to throw a water ballon fight and stage it as an attack/skirmish.

Since we are guerrilla journalists, our news channel will be News 20 WETAVA. (Thanks Isaac, the more fun we have now, the less it feels like work or a project.) That's where the website comes into play. CAC people, you're in charge of creating a logo. As for a slogan Marie was thinking about this while she walked to work and came up with: "News Channel 20: If we report it, it must be true." But whatever you guys want is cool. She was just thinking of funny sayings for a news station.

The website needs to have some fake stories and Megan has saved a copy of the April Fool's Day edition of the DA to just copy those stories since they aren't real we won't get into trouble for it. Samantha has a video camera and we just need someone to be our journalist "reporting" on the event "LIVE" and Marie will take pictures. We need the CAC people to make a map of the campus to go over Baghdad and highlight the area that would resemble the LSB field.

We're going to start a Facebook event for it. It will be April 19th, after the Gold-Blue game. Marie found out it starts at 12:30, so let's think by 3:30/4:00 to do this. We're going to have it between the LSB and B&E and we will provide the water balloons/water pistols (if we can find cheap ones).

Isaac will make up flyers for the event and Marie will print them out at work. Isaac also volunteered to get this in the DA. Marie will start the Facebook group and invite everyone/friend everyone in the group as admins.

How's this sound gang!?

Next group meeting: April 8th, 1:00 Downtown Library - please CAC people, it would be really nice to meet you and get this project to the next stages as quickly as possible.

303 classmates: Isaac suggested we read over the stuff for class and have some ideas for our presentation for Thursday even though we don't have to do our in class thing for a couple of weeks. Also, we need to see if Sandy thinks what we are doing is OK. Better to ask now, than suffer later with our grades.

Our group is going to be embedded reporters and we plan on talking to Dr. George Esper from the J school about his experience as a war reporter and try to base our experiences around that. We will have to research our area of the map when given to determine what event we will re enact.

I think this project will be interesting and will help us gain knowledge of the war in Iraq as well as using multimedia systems.

We are going to be embedded reports in the war. Lauren will talk to Dr. Esper (journalism professor and former embedded reporter for the Vietnam War). Once she has talk to him, we will have a better idea of where to map out our project and what kind of event to plan and where to do it and the details for that.
